  3. Shanti Says:

    Dear Anita,

I was resting after my dinner last night when your programme caught my eye. Well…it’s a great programme. I will definitely look out for the recipies and will try out. I’m wondering if there will be an episode to tackle white spots. U see…a few months ago I went for a facial..first time and guess what happen?? I have white spots almost all over and it’s very obvious. I consulted a doc and he said that I may have had the white spots earlier. Through facial…..it may have aggravated. Whatever…it has caused damaged to my skin.Ooooh!…I’m complaining..I’m sorry.Just looking for some answers to my skin problem 😦

  4. Anita Kapoor Says:

    Hi Shanti

First of all, thank you for watching the show! Am glad you enjoyed it.

I would recommend you see a qualified dermatologist as it’s not common that a facial would “bring out” white spots? I get white spots from contact with synthetic fabrics so I know that’s the cause for me. I use a great powder called Canesten. But, I don’t think you should try anything on yours until you’ve seen a professional who can give you a better answer. It’s your skin and you deserve the best!

Take care and let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,
    Anita Kapoor

  5. Shanti Says:

Thanks for your advice. Will take it seriously and will post the outcome. U are great!

    Cheers!

  6. Suliah Says:

    Dear Anita,

Last Tuesday was my 1st time watching your show & I like it very much. But it just too bad that I miss your previous shows.
Well, I believe in natural products which can be good for our body.

Anyway, I wanna ask you whether is there any natural ingredients recipe which can lighten acne marks?

    Rgds,

  7. Amutha Says:

    Hi Anita,
Great show and planning to try them very soon.
I have a nice face but there are dark skin around my lips and chin. I have tried many lighterning creams and gone for facials too but it does not seem to go away. I also have facial hairs which is passed down from my mum. Now I see my nieces having facial hairs to and they are still very young (elders only Pri.1). Can you help me?

  8. Anita Kapoor Says:

Hi Amutha – thanks for watching the show.

I’m guessing that the pigmentation and hair growth may be more related to hormonal changes, even thyroid. I am not a doctor, but I do believe in arming myself with the best information on women’s health and beauty, don’t you agree? If I may be bold and suggest this: speak with a gynae and ask about hormones and thyroid. I’ve had similar issues in the past and it really helped to have as much information as possible to make an informed decision?

The skin is a window to other things that could be out of balance in the body. I learnt this from an amazing skin expert many years ago, and I’ve always turned to this statement when I’ve had skin issues.

I hope this helps you. Do let me know how things go?

    Best

    Thanks.

  19. Haresh Says:

    Hey Anita,

I love your show and the way you host it. Its amazing how these herbs have such beautiful effect on our complexion compared to all those commercial chemical stuffs out there. I do look forward to your upcoming episodes. Rock on gal!

P.S. Guys skin are a little different compared to the ladies. So could you please find some natural remedies for we guys. Thanks 🙂

    ~Haresh

  20. Kumaran Says:

    Hi Anita,

Looks like I’m only the second male to write in so far. I enjoy your show as I prefer natural foods and really believe that it does help in a person’s look and personality. It’s realy important for people with darker skin as most commercial/mainstream make up products are produced for lighter skinned ladies.
I look forward to seeing you in more TV shows. Have you ever ventured to write a book- on any topic?
    regards
    Kumaran, Singapore.

  21. Haresh Says:

Hi Haresh: thanks for watching, am glad you enjoy the show.

Male skin is actually thicker than women’s. But the beauty of natural remedies is that they work for everyone.

From my experience, male skin tends to need more exfoliating since there’s more hair growth and shaving involved? I’ve just experimented with a great face pack made from tofu, rice bran and honey. It was literally good enough to eat. Left my face really smooth. It features in Ep 5. And, I also made a face wash using red beans – yep the humble red bean, and warm water – which cleanses and exfoliates so well, I may just throw away my old cleanser.

Enjoy the rest of the episodes!

    Best,

    Anita

  22. Shakkila Says:

    Hi Shakkila

Apologies: I missed your lovely message.

Thank you for your compliment. The show is the sum of many parts: hosting, production and writing, all coming together in an interesting way. It’s great to know that viewers appreciate the effort and, get a little something out of each episode. Singapore really is a treasure trove of great all natural beauty secrets.

Thank you for your support and I hope you’re enjoying season 2 as well!

    Best,

    Anita Kapoor

  23. N Says:

  24. Sia Says:

    Hi Anita,

Just watched Episode 3 of your show and it`s just wonderful. Home made natural beauty tips, we couldn`t have asked for anything better. Do you have any remedy for oily T zone? I am having ‘oil seeds’ on my chin and part of my cheeks, really clueless on how to handle them….
    Thank you!

  25. Anne Says:

    Hi Anita!

It’s the 1st time i caught Bare Beauty and i think it’s great! what got my attention was the java coffee body scrub. can it be used on the face as well? ’cause u said freshly ground coffee powder helps to clear pores and i know rice helps to give translucency and radiance (since i have some visible pores and would like to have a radiant complexion). like the others, i would also like to have a recipe for lightening pimple scars! 🙂

  26. Amutha Says:

    Hi Anita,
It is a pleasure watching you show. Me and My husband both watch it & love it.

  27. saberah Says:

Hi Anita, loved your 1st series but cldn’t watch the new one as it clashed wid hubby’s fav zee channel prog( not mine though), hence had to surf. FYI i bought Dabur’s Gulabari ( rosewater) at Hua brothers, tekka, wid alot of other indian toiletries. If u alight at little india station control,u will find this shop after u go out of the stn using the escalator near This Fashion. will get u the block no wen i next pass by.

  28. Amutha Says:

    Hi Amutha!

    Thank you both for watching.

Sure, you can substitute it with any sparkling water, really. We used sparkling because it has some fizz, which is nice gentle boost first thing in the morning and it adds something extra to the recipe.

Hope you get a chance to try it this Sunday. Let me know how it goes!

    Best,
    Anita

  35. Saberah Says:

Dear Saberah – thanks for surfing over to Bare Beauty! And, also for the tip on where to buy rose water. It’s not too hard to find, but since most of us don’t use it that often, it can be tricky to spot.

  52. All Says:

    Hello Everyone

Thought I’d reply collectively as there’s a theme to some of your questions about skin whitening, acne scar lightening, facial hair and slimming.

First up, skin whitening. Personally I’m not a big fan of whitening per se, however I think we all want an even skin tone. I would suggest that those who feel their skin is uneven in tone start to incorporate a good SPF skin protector into their morning routine – just after your moisturise – to protect skin from the sun. Another way to even skin tone over time is to use a twice weekly scrub and, a mask once a week. This livens up skin tone, tightens pores and will leave you looking and feeling perked up and fab. In fact, a lot of commercial whitening products are simply skin exfoliators and SPF’s – mixed in with natural and scientific ingredients.

Cellulite: the bane of everyone! But exercise – that works and tones the back of your thighs especially – is essential. Also try a Clay Body Scub which combines purifying clay (2 tbsp) with sea salt (2 tbsp) and some water into a paste. Wipe a thin layer over body, let it dry, then rub it off. before showering.

Facial hair and acne scars: Till today, IPL is one of the most effective mechanical treatments for ridding facial hair, and lightening acne scars, but you need to be assured that your IPL technician knows what he/she is doing, and understands skin tone, because IPL results differ depending on how light or dark skin is. Please seek a good reccomendation and preferably from a skin doctor. No it’s not the strictly au natural way, but sometimes, the best things are combined for the greatest results!

    Have a great day,

    Anita

  60. Bala Says:

    Hi,

Just caught your show last night on star fruit juice towards the tail end. I was excited about the juice as I heard you say that it increases body metabolism. I started searching online to see if the increased metabolism could perhaps help reduce weight….what I realized is that star fruit juice has lot more negative (and perhaps serious) effects for people on medication for hypertension, renal failure etc. Do you know anything more on this? Do you also know of any authentic sources where I can get more information?

    Thanks.
